Using floss doubled thru needle, insert needle from right side, two rows from finished edge, to go thru to back and back to front side to the finished edge.
Repeat by going down in the next stitch, two rows from finished edge and bring back up at finished edge.
Example: Keep loops about 1/2" long, be careful not to pull them tight when doing the looping.
When you have finished with the first threaded needle, start again with another threaded needle.
Repeat across row.
Finished loops across rug edge.
On reverse side pull thread thru row to anchor.
Bring needle to front of rug right at finished edge, one stitch to left.
Do backstitch across the row of loops to anchor loops in place. Go thru from front to back and back thru to front between each loop (each loop consists of two threads).
Continue backstitching across row.
When finished backstitching, take needle to back of rug and pull through row to stitches to anchor thread.
Finished backstitching.
Cut thru the loops.

Rug with loops cut on both ends.
Lift fringe and cut away fabric about two rows from finished edge of rug..
Close up!
Excess fabric cut away from both ends.
Using iron-on interfacing, attach to back of rug leaving edge of fringe free.
Cut away excess fabric right up to edge of stitching.
Apply bead of glue along cut edge to seal stitching.
